PLAN TO COMPLETE BEACH WORKS

About 400,000 cubic metres of sand has been secured to complete vital projects at beaches in Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara ahead of the high tourism season.

The sand is going to be extracted from the area of the river Genal, and ha been approved bye the junta de Andalucia, according to goverment sources.

The sand would be divided between two major projects on the beaches of San Pedro and the beaches of Venus-Punta del Ancón in Marbella.

These works involve the construction of two submerged seawalls of about 100 metres in length.

MALAGA COASTAL PATH

The Senda Litoral de Málaga (Málaga Coastal Path) is a 160-kilometre path under construction that will follow the entire coast of the province of Málaga, from Manilva to Nerja.

Once completed, it will be a major tourist attraction for the Costa del Sol and Andalucia.

The coastal path is being created by linking the existing town’s seafront promenades; building new paved paths, incorporating paths which, for many years, have been a requirement on beachfront property developments, and by constructing wooden boardwalks.

And this opens up alternative promotion and business opportunities for our entrepreneurs, hotels, hospitality, sports or active tourism businesses.

In addition, the Senda Litoral will contribute to conceiving the Costa del Sol as a single product that covers the entire coastline of the province, from east to west.
